On The Horizon
• REDFOX IN PROSERPINE & MIDGE POINT - MCS Internet Services has completed secondary surveys in the Proserpine & Midge Point area. Daryl McDonald and her team at Proserpine Office Supplies have been spearheading our expansion into their territory and they are now taking applications for installations of REDFOX.

IN GENERAL
• DBCT recently acquired additional Switches and Network Servers to augment their heavy workload.

• G&S Engineering have commissioned a high-availability/high-reliability data link.

• Mackay City Council has purchased their first batch of 60 new Workstations from MCS Computer Solutions.

• Technical Services of late completed the 1st VoIP trial successfully; we will be offering VoIP and additional Value Added Services in the next Quarter.

• MCS Internet Services installed 2 additional Carrier-Grade Cisco Routers in the new Data Centre – this was a portion of the upgrade to the REDFOX network which effectively tripled the available data throughput in Mackay.

MCS & QUEENSLAND HEALTH
• MCS Internet Services entered into agreement with Mackay Base Hospital to install Repeater equipment and antennas on their rooftop in order to further extend the signal reach and strength of REDFOX. This was made possible through the community-minded spirit of Queensland Health.

• MCS Computer Services is now the Repair & Warranty Agent for Acer and Konica-Minolta, plus Australia Post and Bill Express (pre-paid mobile cards); this is in addition to existing Agency Agreements for Companies such as HP, Compaq, IBM, Woolworth’s, Big W, Petrol Plus and Dan Murphy’s.

MCS IS ON THE MOVE
• We relocated to new larger premises at 31 Milton St opposite the Showground. This tripling of floor space was accompanied by the acquisition and installation of significant new technology infrastructure.
